10 years of crab data from Moose Point State Park

From students at James F. Doughty Middle School - "Grade 7 and 8 accelerated science students from the James F. Doughty Middle School went to Moose Point State Park to do a timed transect species survey. The transect size was 10 meters by 2 meters, and the transects were located in the inter tidal zone. We had 12 transects. After setting up the transects we did a trial run outside of the marked transects to get familiar with searching and picking up crabs. After the trial run, we went back to our transects and searched the area for 20 minutes on a mission to collect as many crabs as we could. At that point we do not stop and determine the species. Our next step was to find a dry area, and begin measuring, determining species and gender. We used the Vital Signs species sheets to see if there were any Asian Shore Crabs. We put all of the information into a data sheet."

This excel has the data that students from James F. Doughty Middle School have been collecting since 2006!
