Intern Event 2013

On Tuesday, July 16th, the VS team including Jeffrey, the VS intern, headed out with five other GMRI interns in search of native and invasive species in Robinson Woods II in Cape Elizabeth. It was great to introduce the interns to VS (of course Jeffrey is an old pro).

We got to our field site, a stream and walking bridge, and split into two groups: one looked for hemlock and hemlock woolly adelgid, and the other did the "benthic boogie" and searched for macroinvertebrates in the stream.

When we headed into the woods the sun was shining and it was hot. When we left and headed to The Local Buzz to upload our data, the rain started to come down hard. We made it to the cars just in time!

If you want to read the observations posted by the interns, you can look at their usernames:

The afternoon was fun and successful. We beat the rain and invasive HWA was NOT FOUND!
