Video Blog! Japanese knotweed

- Greetings from the coast of Maine! This week I went searching with my wonderful cousin, Amelia, for Japanese knotweed. We did not have to go far from her home in Brunswick to find this aggressive plant. We found huge bushes right behind the local Dairy Frost.
If there are any students in the Brunswick/Topsham area looking for an excuse to go get some ice cream, just tell your parents it will be an educational trip where you can go see an important invasive species! You could even do a Vital Signs field study why you enjoy some peanut butter soft serve (my personal favorite from there).
Hope you enjoy episode 2. My cousin and I sure had fun making it!
Stay tuned for the next episode, be-claws it’s gonna be a good one!
Here’s my recent observation of Japanese knotweed in Brunswick. Compare it to giant knotweed a similar species documented by Mainer95 in South Portland.
Stay wild,
