Golden Line, Chapter 2
The line that really got to me was on page 21, "Proficiency in science entails skillful participation in a scientific community in the classroom and mastery of productive ways of representing ideas, using scientific tools, and interacting with peers about science." I've only taught science for one school year, I'm more of a math teacher by training and practice, but it felt like so much of what we did required limited participation in the process of science. I believe that the more kids get the chance to feel like they've really worked out the process on their own the more they learn from it.
