Help! I don't see my data

If you don’t see your observation on the map, stay calm! Here are some tips for sleuthing it out. If these don’t work, contact us. We’ll give it our best shot by email or phone together!

1. Log in. Go to your My Vital Signs page. Scroll down to your Unfinished Observations box. Is you observation still showing up as unfinished? If it is, click view/edit, go to the Review & Submit Tab, and hit Publish! Go check the map again.

4. Go to the Explore data page. Do you see your observation on this page? If you do, click on the photo or species name to see the full observation detail. There is a map in the upper right column. Click on the map to go straight to your observation on the View data on map page. Any luck?

5. Observations made in the same location result in stacked map markers. Use the table to the left of the map to turn a species off to view the hidden markers. The nubs on each marker are a hint that there are stacked markers.

Thanks for trying these things out. It’s time to contact us to get to the bottom of this sticky situation. The more information you can provide the better – your username, details about the species you looked for, where you looked for it, the date, what you’re eating for lunch, etc.
