Field Notes
A sketch of our study site.
The weather was pleasant; sunny with no precipitation. In the background we could hear cars, people, and crunching leaves. We smelled decaying plants.We had one dominant plant in the quadrat, and lots of grass of at least three species at ground level.

Leaves were not apparently glossy.

Leaves were shorter than 5-13" long, even the largest leaves.

There were no red berries, and certainly no green flowers (which would only be apparent until August).
