Field Notes
I am happy because we were able to locate several hemlocks and not a single woolly adelgid. I see many trees that differ from hard wood to soft. I am surprised we found so many hemlocks I am surprised that we did not find any hemlocks.
Supporting Evidence
Photo of my evidence.
one good reason I think I did not find any adelgid is because there was no white waxy tufts covering the numphs.

We checked the tops and bottoms of the branches.

Comments

Climate and location both make this a good place to look and recreational use increases risk of exposure to HWA. I'm with sniffly, this looks like a great way to get to a survey location.

that just looks like SO MUCH fun. i want to go kayaking :) i'm also glad you didn't find any HWA. nice work!
