Field Notes
We saw ducks and were able to see turtles and frogs. We got caught in the mud. There was muddy ground, we heard birds chirps, the sweet smell of the pine trees. We were caught off guard when we found ducks!

Supporting Evidence
Photo of my evidence.
We did not find the Riffle Beetle, but we think that we found a Water Scavenger Beetle. We think that we found a Water Scavenger Beetle because of the fringe like hairs on the back legs. Some other reasons we think we found a Water Scavenger Beetle, is that our bug that we found had 6 legs like the water scavenger beetle. He was 40mm long and Water Scavenger Beetles are 1 to 40mm long.

Another reason that we think it is a water Scavenger Beetle was that he is 40mm long and Water Scavenger Beetles are 1 to 40mm long.

Comments

Good job on identifying the organism to the order Coleoptera. I'm not 100% on it being a water scavenger beetle, the pictures make it hard for me to confirm that, but the size is right.
