Field Notes
We think we didn't find Redtwig Dogwood. It was freezing rain and the camera batteries kept dying. It took a while to find a plant that looked like dogwood. It was fun to go outside and get fresh air.
Supporting Evidence
Photo of my evidence.
The leaves were too small and the plant's stem was like a root. The plant that looked like Redtwig Dogwood was hard to find. We did see a plant that looked like it but it was too small. The plant that looked like Redtwig Dogwood was well hidden in the shrub.
Photo of my evidence.
We're not sure because it did match the leaf's description except for the size. Most of the leaves were gone. Its only half a foot tall.
Photo of my evidence.
The plants that we found were not in big groups like the description said they would be. Also it is winter and the plants we saw still had leaves. The Redtwig Dogwood is supposed to lose all it's leaves in the fall. The leaves were frozen from the freezing rain.

Yikes! Looks like it was pretty ice. Seems like you found some kind of shrub. Any thoughts on what it might be?
