Field Notes
I think that I found the clasping leaf pondweed. during this investigation, the location was mostly wetland. Some problems I happen to run into was if it was the right plant or not. Some things didn't match up but some things did so it was hard to tell.

Comments
it is not clasping pondweed.
Nice job on correctly ruling out clasping-leaf pondweed. The leaves actually wrap all the way around or most of the way around the stem and this plant does not. Was this plant completely submerged or was it partly sticking out of the water?

Great job going out and looking for some pondweed. I love how you guys took a kayak out to look! Also, great job measuring the stems to get their exact thickness. When making future evidence statements for NOT FOUND decisions, try and compare your plant back to the one you were looking for. You could say something like: "I found a plant that has leaves that are 7 cm long, while the leaves of Plant X are normally 3 cm long, so the plant I found is not Plant X."
Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more observations from you!
