Field Notes
we saw and heard a pileated wood pecker. We see two ducks one male and one female. We see one baby orange frog and two big ones and one big toad.

It has moderately webbed feet. Its toe pads are sticky and round. Females lay 200 to 1,200 eggs. To tell it is a spring peeper by the cross on its back.

This is a very small type of tree frog. It measures about 2.5 cm and 1 inch. The ground color can vary from dull grey or tan to bright brick red or pink.

Its habitats are forest in regenerating woodlands near ephemeral or semi-perminatent wetlands.

Amphibians are my favorite, and I've been loving seeing all the posts from your vernal pool. It would be cool to learn more about what your all feel like you learned and saw out there. Maybe you can write a blog post together summarizing your findings this spring. That would be cool!
