VS Skils Round Robin

> This is a sheet to record going through the process of rotating through a brief introduction of the skills. It has 8 skills on there; however, we did 2 rounds of 4 and 4. This is a brief summary and insight of what one of the rounds looked like for us.

In essence: in a 2 hour period, we each saw 150-200 students for a skill session. (Guy: GPS, Joan: Quadrat/Species Cards, Sandy: Observation Sketches, Joelle: Camera) Now, it wasn't pretty; but, we did it again the following
Friday, with the other 4 skills! :) And, certainly, armed with more strategies. ;)

We did feel rushed during the process; however, in many ways, we felt it was a great glimpse of what to expect outside: the good, the bad, and the ugly. Some kids were very excited! :) Some kids were off task. We did have some nice sketches from students in the observation activity. And, Guy created a great sheet for students to use as they rotated through the skills. Last, but not least, we kept track of some organizational notes for ourselves for the actual activities.

So, we took the sheet that Guy created and turned it into this sheet as a check list and a feedback sheet for students to use when they rotate through the skills round robin. When we debriefed the next time, we would still do it again. :) And, just reminded ourselves that it was a great way to give the students a quick look at many skills. Basically, we loved the way the staff at GMRI had done trained us this summer on some of the skills this summer and we wanted to find a way to replicate it with our students and we did!
